Air conditioning

Air conditioning repair, before July gets ugly.

Summers here are short but hot, and an AC that quits in July is miserable. We repair central air systems and install new ones matched to your furnace and ductwork.

Call us when

  • Vents blow warm or barely cool air
  • Ice forms on the copper lines
  • The outdoor unit hums but the fan won't spin
  • Water pools around the indoor coil
  • The power bill jumps for no clear reason

New installs include

  • Sizing based on your home, not a rule of thumb
  • New pad, line set and disconnect where needed
  • Refrigerant charge verified by measurement
  • Coil matched to your furnace for rated efficiency

Cottonwood season is hard on condensers.

Every June the fluff blankets outdoor coils. A clogged coil makes the AC run longer and hotter. A gentle rinse from the inside out, with the power off, helps a lot; our spring tune-up does it properly.

AC questions

Serving Idaho Falls, Ammon, Rexburg and Shelley.

Why is my AC running but the house won't cool down?

Check the filter and make sure the outdoor unit's fan is spinning. A dirty coil, a failed capacitor or low refrigerant from a leak are the usual causes, and all need a technician.

Should I replace my AC and furnace at the same time?

Not always. If both are old, doing them together saves labor and makes sure they're matched. If one is young, replace only the one that's failing.

Can I just add refrigerant every summer?

Refrigerant doesn't get used up. If it's low, there's a leak, and topping up every year costs more than finding and fixing it.

Too hot, too cold, or just making a noise?
